Nothing - Five Minute Friday

And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.                        Romans 8:38

Nothing can separate you from my love.

Nothing you’ve done. Nothing you’ll do.
Not all the mistakes you made as a teenager. Not all the things you did wrong as a mama...not all the ways you have not loved your husband well.

No nothing can separate you from my love.

Not all the trials that threaten our relationship. The losses. The troubles. The pain. The grief.

No nothing can separate you from my love.

Though I know you doubt this at times.
Whether it’s because you have wronged or been wronged, you think I’m not there. I am always there. Whether you feel near or far. Or happy or sad. Or whether or not you’re walking a straight path or one that turns you from side to side.
Whether you feel my love or not. Whether you think I’m there or not.

No nothing can separate you from my love.

Not hormones, or life, or accidents or death or divorce.

No nothing.

You are mine always and forever.
I love you every day, every hour, every moment. I love you with an everlasting love.

No nothing can separate you from my love.

Not all the screaming or silence or loving or even hating.

No nothing can separate you from my love.

I do stick closer than a brother, a mother, a father, a best friendeven your dearly beloved husband. I am always there.

No nothing can separate us ever.

Not even life or death.

But here is something…
I want everything. I give everything. And I want everything.
Yes, I want it now, but I am willing to wait. I’ve got eternity and you do too. And life, it’s a journey here on earth. You’ll get it wrong lots of times, but I still want it all. Your flawed, your frantic, your failings, your everything.

Come to me with everything. Come to me with you. Come to me because I want everything and nothing will ever ever ever cause me not to love you!

Take the Five Minute Challenge!

  1. Elise, it's so lovely to "meet you" through Lisa Jo and FMF this week! I love that verse from Romans 8, and you made me smile from ear to ear by mentioning hormones. Thanks for the encouraging word. :)

    1. Thanks for coming by Lyli! Sometimes my hormones rule...and that's not good. But thankfully God even wants that!

  2. Yes!!! I could reread this again and again. Thanks for sharing with FMF...

  3. Elise, thanks for stopping by my site. I'm excited to meet you and read your words. I always find such comfort in the fact that He wants everything - even the things I assume no one would want! Great post. Lisa

    1. Thanks for stopping by Lisa...Yes we can take comfort in the fact that He wants the good, the bad, and the ugly!
