You Were Made for Dreaming and a FREE Giveaway

You Were Made for a

God-Sized Dream

For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword… (Hebrews 4:12a)

Dear God-Sized Dreamer (Yes…I mean you!),

Do you have a dream tucked way down deep in your heart that you dare not share…BECAUSE you fear you will be laughed at…you doubt you are worthy to dream…your cynicism has replaced the hope of innocence?

Or maybe your obstacles are practical…

You can’t afford to dream; you’ve got to get to work.

No time for dreaming…too much to do.

You once had dreams, but you had to grow up.

Whatever your obstacles are, they’re lies.

They’re squelching your dream and masking The Truth.*

Fill in the blanks with your name…

* You, (Name), can do all things through Christ who strengthens you. (Phil 4:13)

* “For I know the plans I have for you (Name),” declares the Lord, “plans for your welfare, (Name), and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope." (Jeremiah 29:11)

* But seek first the kingdom of God, (Name), and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. (Matthew 6:33)

* (Name), Delight yourself in the LORD and He will give you the desires of your heart. (Psalm 47:4)

* And we know that in all things, (Name), God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose. (Romans 8:28)

I had a good friend who had lots of lies rolling around in her head. For a month or so, she carried around a yellow legal pad. On one side she wrote down the lies she believed, on the other side, she wrote the Truth. God’s Truth. If you’re in the habit of listening to the lies, you have to replace them with Truth!

3 Steps to Making Your Dreams Come True

Okay, so now that you’re getting back in touch with your dreams, and believing the good things God says about you are true, you’ve got a little work to do:

1. Write down your dream—Get yourself a dream notebook or dream document and write down what you dream of being or accomplishing. (Just do this…it doesn’t have to be perfect!)

2. Pray about your dream—You don’t need to impress God. Have a simple conversation with Him about your dream. And ask Him to lead you.

3. Act—Take one small step toward your dream. If you dream of writing or speaking, get some books, search the web, glean from the experts. If you dream of creating something tangible, start creating. If you dream of getting a degree, start taking one class or attend one lecture. (My sister took classes for 14 years toward her Master’s in Education while she was raising kids. Now, at 50+, degree completed, she’s a teacher in an inner-city public school! Dream come true, one step at a time.)

I’ve met someone recently who’s encouraged me to dream.

She’s convinced me that no dream is too big if God’s leading. She’s reminded me that God really has a purpose and a plan for me to fulfill and it’s more than I can ask or imagine.

Her name is Holley Gerth.

She’s one of the most authentic inspiring women I’ve ever met. And she’s written a book that I know will help you discover, explore, and realize your dream. So go ahead and get her book You’re Made for a God-Sized Dream.

  7. Ok, you got me. I posted my dream on my blog. Daring to dream a God-sized dream is scary. But I am trusting Him to know ultimately what is best for me, as He has done so many times before.
